Autumn has arrived! And with it the bounty of our local orchards... Plums, pears, apples, apples, and more apples! Our produce harvest tables are full of sun-ripened tomatoes, greens, beans, beets, varieties of zucchini, Ed's own garlic, and much more! Fresh for the choosing, the options are endless.

In the pantry we have a new product from Scotch Mountain Meats: beef jerky. Often requested by hiking enthusiasts and picnic-goers, this high-protein snack is fit for easy packing. We also have new bison pepperettes called Csabai, being snapped up quickly! They are made with a Hungarian recipe using buffalo meat, individually vac-packed, portable and popular.

Last week we had a surprise delivery of fresh pheasant from Pheasant Hill Farm in Owen Sound. The few that were left had to go in the freezer on Saturday night, but we will be getting more next week! October 2^nd and October 17^th will be the next delivery dates for fresh pheasant – call the store to order yours, or take your chances...

Speaking of calling in orders, The 100 Mile Market in Meaford is now taking orders for fresh Thanksgiving turkey from Countryside Poultry in Listowel, Ontario. Let us know what size you'd like, and we will have it ready to be picked up in store October 8^th!
