Peanuts are here! At The 100 Mile Market in Meaford we now carry Ontario grown peanuts, in shell or without, salted and unsalted for snacking or for your favourite recipes. We also have almond butter, processed in Ontario. Come in to try them out!
Also new this week: Dewberries (also known as Timber Berries) from Collingwood. Dewberries (Rubus sect. Eubatus) are a group of species closely related to blackberries. They are small brambles with berries reminiscent of the raspberry, but are usually purple to black instead of red.
Dewberries are common throughout most of the Northern Hemisphere, sometimes thought of as a nuisance weed, but the leaves can be used for a tea, and the berries are sweet and edible. They can be eaten raw, or used to make cobbler or jam.
And...
Smoked Elk Bones for your Canine Friends - large smoked elk bones will keep your best friend happy for a long while - $5.00/bone. Yes you can shop for your dog at The 100 Mile Market. We also carry CanEVA-K9 (Canadian Elk Velvet Antler), a natural remedy to help alleviate joint or muscle problems as well as doggie treats with CanEVA in them.
Thanks to all who participated in our Cook Book Swap – it was a fun event with plenty of inspirational recipe chat and exchanges. We were also able to donate two large boxes of books to The Net Shed, and we passed along a generous donation to the Meaford Public Library.
Have a great weekend!
