Welcome to the first official 100 Mile Market newsletter from Meaford
We are so happy to have had such a great response from our customers and friends interested in hearing our news via e-mail!
The news is:
- Strawberry season has ended, but don’t worry – cherries are in full abundance! Brad from Barbetta Orchards just delivered fresh juicy red Bing cherries. Come in and get them before they’re gone…
- We still have healthy and beautiful flower and vegetable plants for planting in your gardens. Anastasia from Beaver Valley Flower Farm has taken such good care of them – some of the tomato plants are ready for first harvest!
We have a delicious variety of elk sausage and bison burgers ready to BBQ. Plus shish kebobs from Blue Ridge Meats, and fresh lamb and steak from Scotch Mountain Meats. Serve these with fresh Northern Woods mushrooms from Markdale, and Grass Roots Organics’ spelt noodles and you have a complete local meal! And for dessert? Try Mapleton’s Organic Chai ice cream. Yum!
Watch for our newsletters announcing local produce arrivals, and feel free to e-mail us with questions or comments. We have plenty of ideas coming your way, including recipe ideas, health advice, and tips for eating locally to support our area farmers. And…We are soon launching a new website – stay tuned!
Thank you for your support and for your friendly smiles. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
